The Accidental Administrator Cisco Router StepbyStep Configuration Guide eBook Don R Crawley
This book provided an excellent introduction to Cisco 1941 configuration and easier to obtain than private lessons from a Cisco expert. The Kindle edition included all the errata fixes from the printed editions so I was glad I used the digital version.
The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I would have liked to see more depth on the topics of traffic shaping and NetFlow v9 configuration.
Nonetheless, it was a very worthwhile read (and re-read and re-read). The advice about Putty was excellent. There were many, many practical tips for how to initially enter and subsequently edit the configuration.

The Accidental Administrator Cisco Router StepbyStep Configuration Guide eBook Don R Crawley Reviews
Is what it says! This book is great for beginners needing to get a router up and running quickly in a corporate environment running on Cisco network hardware.
This book is far easier to understand than the technical documentation found on the Cisco website. The author goes right to the point, it also offer companion videos for each chapter.
This is an OK book. Each section is reasonable in its coverage, but there is not a major section on overall configuration where the interactions and combined settings are handled. The firewall section is very weak and incomplete.
Now I know what people are talking about. When they start to talk about Routers and configuring and setting them up to work.
A mighty book of how to configure a Cisco router. It is like trying to read thru Atlas Shrugged, although not as thrilling...in other words, a large book of great material, too much to read at one setting. I recommend it to other Cisco 'newbies'.
If you want to know the basis for Cisco routers ,this is the book to get.

I keep a copy of this and a Cisco IOS quick reference chart around at all times.
